Description
Ammonium pentaborate (tetrahydrate) has the chemical formula NH4B5O8·4H2O. Colorless orthorhombic bipyramidal crystals. Soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol. It is stable at 0～90℃, and when heated above 90℃, ammonia can be separated out, and it will be converted into boron trioxide with a small amount of ammonia at high temperature. Ammonium pentaborate (tetrahydrate) can be prepared by Chemicalbook from boric acid and ammonia (or borax and ammonium chloride).

Application
Ammonium pentaborate (tetrahydrate) can be used as boron compound intermediates, telecommunication equipment, fire retardants, detergents, and used in glass manufacturing, wood processing, high temperature technology and medicine.
