N,N-Diethylhydroxylamine (abbreviated as DEHA 85% 97% CAS 3710-84-7) is an important organic compound widely used in chemical industries, environmental protection, and materials science.

Basic Information
English name: N,N-Diethylhydroxylamine
Alias: Diethylhydroxylamine, DEHA, Diethanamine, N,N-Diethylhydroxylamine
CAS Number: 3710-84-7
Molecular formula: C₄H₁₁NO
Molecular weight: 89.14 g/mol
EINECS No.: 223-055-4

Physical and chemical properties
Appearance: The pure product is a colorless, transparent liquid, while the industrial grade often appears as a pale yellow, transparent liquid
Odor: has an amine smell (similar to ammonia)
Density: approximately 0.896–0.902 g/mL (25°C)
Boiling point: 125–133°C
Melting point: −26 to −25°C
Flash point: 46.1–48.4°C
Water solubility: readily soluble in water, also soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, chloroform, and benzene
Stability: Stable at room temperature but may gradually turn yellow upon exposure to light, air, or prolonged storage; may temporarily become turbid after vigorous shaking and clear after several hours

Application and Use
Polymerization inhibitor: Highly effective for inhibiting the polymerization of conjugated dienes (e.g., 1,3-butadiene) and vinyl monomers
Antioxidants and stabilizers: Used for unsaturated oils, resins, rubber, coatings, photosensitive materials, etc., to prevent oxidative degradation
Oxygen scavenger: Suitable for steam boiler feedwater systems (including high-temperature condensate circulation), with superior deoxygenation performance compared to hydrazine and carbonylhydrazide; even more effective in the presence of a catalyst
Termination agent: Serves as an efficient termination agent in styrene-butadiene emulsion polymerization
Photographic Solution: Used as an antioxidant in color developing solutions (requires photographic-grade purity)
Environmental Application: Can be used as a photochemical smog inhibitor

Safety and Storage
Hazardousness:
Flammable; vapors can form explosive mixtures with air
Toxic, irritating to the eyes and skin
The combustion products contain toxic nitrogen oxides
Safety Label: S36/S37 (Wear protective clothing/gloves); R10 (Flammable), R21 (Harmful if contacted with skin), R38 (Irritating to skin)
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, ventilated, and light-protected area, away from fire and heat sources. It is recommended to seal and store in an environment ≤30°C
Synthesis Method (Brief)

Common industrial production methods include:
Hydrogen peroxide oxidation of secondary amines: The oxidation of diethylamine or triethylamine with H₂O₂ in the presence of a catalyst (such as CdCl₂·2H₂O or ZnCl₂)
The thermal decomposition method of triethanolamine oxide: DEHA is obtained by pyrolysis of triethanolamine oxide under reduced pressure and high temperature, with a yield of approximately 69%
