Description
Salicylic acid tends to atmospherically subimate when temperature higher than 76°C; Easily to decarboxylate and change into phenol and carbon dioxide when heated atmospherically. It is slightly soluble in water but dissolves in boiling water easily, soluble in ethanol or ether and slightly soluble in Chloroform.
Application
A disinfector and antiseptic, also can be used as intermediates of medicine, pesticide, dyestuff, widely used manufacturing aspirin, glyburide, diflunisal, sodium salicylate, optunal, etc.
