Mechanism of Action and Application
-Mechanism of action: Inhibits acetyl lactate synthase (ALS) in weeds, blocks the synthesis of branched chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine), leading to cell division arrest and plant yellowing and death.
-Main use: Weeding before or after cotton seedlings in cotton fields, with significant effects on difficult to remove broad-leaved weeds such as morning glory, Cang’er, and Abutilon, and high safety for cotton (rapid degradation within cotton plants).
-Dosage: 35 – 105 g/ha (about 3 – 7 g/mu) of active ingredients can be used for soil treatment or spray of stems and leaves.

Safety and stability
-Stability: Stable for 32 days at 27 ℃ in pH 5-9 aqueous solution; Pure products should be stored away from light, sealed, and kept in a cool and dry place (some recommendations suggest 2-8 ℃).
-Toxicity warning: The acute oral LD of rats is about 3200-3300 mg/kg; GHS classification prompts serious eye irritation, suspected carcinogenicity, and extremely toxic to aquatic organisms. Protective equipment should be worn during operation.

This herbicide was developed by a Japanese combinatorial chemical company and was launched in 1994. Its patent has expired and it is a selective high and low dosage specialized herbicide for cotton fields.
