CAS 103-03-7 corresponds to 1-phenylaminourea (also known as aniline urea), with the molecular formula C ₇ H ₉ N ∝ O and a molecular weight of 151.17. It is an organic intermediate used in pesticide and pharmaceutical synthesis, belonging to IARC Class 3 carcinogens and having moderate toxicity.
Basic Information
-Chinese name: 1-Phenylaminourea (Aniline Urea)
-English name: 1-Phenelsemicarbazide
-CAS number: 103-03-7
-Molecular formula: C ₇ H ₉ N ∝ O
-Molecular weight: 151.17
-EINECS number: 203-072-3
-Appearance: White to light yellow flaky crystals or powder
-Melting point: 171-174 ° C
-Solubility: Highly soluble in hot water, ethanol, methanol, and acetone; Difficult to dissolve in cold water, ether, benzene
main purpose
1. Pesticide synthesis: As a key intermediate used to synthesize the precursor of organophosphorus insecticide triazophos (1-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolol).
2. Pharmaceutical industry: formerly used to manufacture antipyretics (such as Cryogenine/Febromin), now mostly used as pharmaceutical synthesis blocks.
3. Analytical chemistry: Reacts with aldehydes and ketones to produce urea, which is used for qualitative/quantitative analysis of carbonyl compounds.
Safety and Storage
-Toxicity data: intraperitoneal injection of LD ₅₀ approximately 198 mg/kg in mice; Swallowing is harmful.
-Carcinogenicity: IARC classified as Class 3 (insufficient evidence of carcinogenicity to humans).
-Hazardous characteristics: Thermal decomposition may release toxic nitrogen oxide smoke.
-Storage conditions: Sealed, away from light, protected by inert gas, stored at room temperature or in a cool and dry place.
